So ironically right after writing this I read this. Which, while it’s Hollanov-centric, covers the exact same period of time and lifts and remixes a lot of the book’s scenes and dialogue. And I think the difference between the book and the fic is pretty much exactly the, like, Vibe I was trying to gesture at in the difference between mainstream published capital-R Romance Fiction and fanfic as a genre (inasmuch as it can be defined as such)?

Anyway. Someone who’s smart or whatever should get into doing some kind of meta (video essay?) or something on that, hey.

≫ I refer to my sona as me/myself and her (3rd person), but inside my head (daydreams), we are one entity/person. We are the same and different, ik it's weird. Nomi and Sini are different basically. So for example when I say OCxCanon I usually mean a ship with Nomi (or another OC). I use selfship to mean specifically Nomi. When I refer to F/Os, I'm talking about relationships Nomi is in (aka me, inside my daydreams). Nomi uses She/Her pronouns, while I, Sini, use Ae/aer, which can help distinguish which "self" I'm talking about. Just maladaptive daydream things lmao. I will write an in-depth post at some point, Please ask if I'm confusing or just wanna learn more <3
Please keep in mind: I have issues with reality/delusions/paranoia, and I do not see fictional characters as real for my OWN SAFETY, you do you though!

I've been actively fannish since the days of ST:TNG and DS9, and wrote for Sailor Moon and Pokemon in the late 90s. All those works are lost to the mists, but I fondly remember the days of crack-fic, MST3K-ing, and Hearts of Ice.

I have a degree in English Literature, which sounds impressive but mostly serves to complicate my writing process (along with the ADHD, parenthood, and day job). Might finish my longfics before I die.
